Two Marvelous Gifts

Recognize this uniform? It was from the Tyrone Area High School's Golden Eagles Marching Band. In the years 1965 - 1966, Jimmy Maney II proudly wore it as a member of the band. Sadly, he lost his life in an auto crash in 1970, and his family has presented this complete uniform to the Tyrone Area Historical Society.
A quick change artist! That's what Ron Hess was in the early 80s! He would march for the Tyrone Area High School Band at the front of town parades. Ron wore the uniform of the Tyrone Gardner Guards underneath the high school uniform, and then he'd run back to the beginning of the parade and catch up with the Guards and finish the parade again. Ron says he learned a lot of fine musical skills in the Guards, that have encouraged him all these years. He is currently working on a Master's Degree in Music Composition at the University of Maryland. He and his family have donated this uniform to the Tyrone Area Historical Society, and Maribel Hildebrand, a volunteer with the society, notes the perfect condition of the uniform. Can anyone top Ron's accomplishment?
