This magnificent piece of firefighting equipment was used a few weeks later to confine a bad fire to one floor of one building in a full block of endangered buildings.

The Color Guard in the first photo and the "Doughboy" you've seen so many times in Soldier's Park.  But, Do you notice something unusual about the second photo?  It was taken at the original location of the monument, near the new Railroad Park,before the statue was moved 8 blocks to its present location.
