TACO AWARDS OVER THE YEARS

2011 AWARDS:

Four members of the TAHS Graduating Class of 2011 were recipients of awards at TACO's (Tyrone Area Community Organizations) 21st Charter Night event held at the Warriors Mark Fire Hall Saturday, May 21, 2011.
The seniors, who were each presented with $500 scholarships, include from left - Jesse Shaffer, Erica Swartz, Taylor Goss and Zachery Burke.  Photos by Virgie Werner.

The new slate of officers for 2011-2012 include, seated from left - Ruth Brower,  president, David Kaup, vice president and Ann Brower, secretary. Standing:: Ron Beckwith, Communication Personnel, Jeannie Price, treasurer and Bob Grager, Communication Personnel.  The program followed dinner served by members of the Warriors Mark Fire Company.

2010 Charter Night

The 2010 John W. Eschbach Memorial Scholarships were awarded to Dillon McKeehan, Kara Caprer, Chantelle Barndt and Logan Harper

The "Boss of the Year" Award was presented to Bruce Makin, of the Northern Bedford Recreation Center, the Humanitarian Award was given to lisa Baum, of DJ's Cafe, for her annual Free Thanksgiving Dinners, and the Betty F. Simpson Memorial Award for Distinguished Service went to Charlie Diehl, Snyder Township Supervisor, for his volunteer painting of the towhsip's guiderails, and other things.

A big crowd was on hand for the Tyrone Area Community Organization's annual "Search for the biggest catch"on April 30, 2005.  George Kaup, Jr., at right above, has his fish measured.  Ryan Romano caught an 18 incher, and took the top award.

Here comes the Memorial Day Parade!

Here it comes - carried by over 30 proud people- The American Flag!

To paraphrase the old song, "It ain't heavy...it's MY Flag!"

What a thrill as Taco's Members and Boy Scouts proudly carried this giant American Flag through the streets of Tyrone as the centerpiece of the Memorial Day Parade 2003
