During the year, one of the part-time employees was terminated because of lack of success in making sales.  The Station advertised for a replacement, using on-air announcements, as well as classified ads in the Tyrone Daily Herald.  We received 13 responses with 11 from the newspaper and two from on-air. We hired one of those from the newspaper ad as a part-time salesperson.   Another part-time salesperson divides her time between a home in Tyrone, and another one in Florida, and when in Florida, she does very little sales work for WTRN.

During the year, one of the part-time employees passed away, and the station advertised for a replacement, using on-air announcements as well as newspaper ads, and the Cooperative Education Department of the local high school.  We received 16 applications – 5 from newspaper, 5 from radio, 2 from school, and four from those who’d heard about it from friends.  We hired one of those who heard about it from a friend.

Also during the year, one of the two fulltime employees resigned. We advertised in the local newspaper, and received one response from a person who was “calling around generally”, three responses from the newspaper, as well as one who heard about the opening from a relative.  We ended up hiring this person.

The operation of WKMC, which had been considered as an integral part of this Employment Unit, became less connected with the operation of WTRN.  In January of 2005, applications were filed with the FCC to transfer the license of WKMC to another party.  That application is pending as of this date.

During the year between April 1, 2004 and March 31, 2005, there was little interrelation between the two stations, and thus, the size of the employment unit was substantially below the figure of five fulltime employees.
